Entering the Grind(er)
As the semester comes to a halt, there has been a tremendous amount of work betowed upon me as well as the rest of college students in America, I'm sure. As they say, the semester is:
"Coming down to the wire"
"Entering the grind of things"
"Is coming to a screeching halt"
Entering the grind of things REALLY refers to the huge workload each professor has decided to lay upon college students at the end of the semester.
Whenever a new assignment comes up in a class, I hear the constant "i have a test in my OTHER 3 classes too, can we postpone it or something?" from a fellow student. Here's what I have to say to that student "That sounds like a great idea...... for YOUR convenience, but why postpone it and add extra work to the rest of us toward the end of the semester?"
Suck it up. This is college and we are expected to meet the demands of college courses and accomplish the challenges that lay before us. It's a privilege to be able to attain a degree; not everyone has the chance to get a college degree.
I call the period at the end of the semester that each college student enters not just simply the "grind," but the GRINDER. Yeah, completing the huge workload at the end of the semester is going to be treacherous, that's why i call it the GRINDER. But like I said, we just have to suck it up and tackle it head on; of course it sucks, but we just have to deal with it.
I don't know about every other college student, but I don't want to say getting my degree was cake (easy). I want to say I EARNED my college degree and I earned it by overcoming challenges and meeting the demands asked of me. My degree will have some substance to it because I didn't complain about things being too hard. I have the attitude of "is that all you got?" If things are hard, I ask for them to be harder. Challenging yourself is the only way to obtain KNOWLEDGE.
SO suck it up you guys and just count down the days until Christmas Break. A whole month off will be well worth the extra work at the end of the semester.
