Snow, Off-campus living, Duke

SNOW/Off-Campus Living/ DUKE

SNOW
So yeah, I went to my 9am class and it wasn't snowing. I got back from my 9am class and it wasn't snowing. I came back from my 9am class and sat down to play Madden, but as soon as the game was over, the ground was covered with snow and it was falling down. Talk about Snow from out of NOWHERE.

Who can complain? It IS January and cold weather has always been a characteristic of January -- of course because it IS a WINTER month. Classes COULD be cancelled when it snows, so I say bring the white powder on -- less school work for me to bore myself with.

Off-Campus Living
So Off-Campus living is going to be a harder goal to accomplish than I first expected. To live off-campus you have to have at least 56 credits (according to "page 65 of the Longwood Student Handbook").

To be qualified for the "Senior Privilege" you have to have 89 credits completed by the end of Spring semester in your Junior year. Guess what? I just so happens I have 88, 1 measely credit away from the "Senior Privilege."

Why am I ranting? Because I am going to be placed on the "Junior Exception" list. Why doesn't that make sense to me? Well, let's see here:

I WILL BE A FREAKIN' SENIOR and will complete the requirements for my degree by May 2006, yet I don't have 89 credits, just 88. Where is the sense in this "requirement?"

If Longwood wants to have a "Senior Privilege" they should change the Handbook "Rule" to include:

Anyone who will complete their degree requirements by the Spring semester of their 4th year (Senior Year) OR Anyone with 89 credits or higher should be placed in the "Senior Privilege."

Why base it on Junior Year? Base it on who will complete their degree requirements. I didn't trench through 3 years of college to be a Senior placed on the "Junior Exception" list.

1 credit -----> Kiss my round white butt.

DUKE, on a lighter note
Wednesday, January 19, 2004: (4) Duke @ Miami, 8:30PM, ESPN.

Duke plays Miami, recently joined the ACC, at the Home of the Hurricanes. Miami has faired well against other ACC opponents, beating the N.C. State Wolfpack most recently.

I'm not going into watching the game thinking Duke will BLOW OUT Miami, yet I'm going into it as if it were an NCAA Championship game. Duke must take Miami's guard duo seriously or they will be "UPSET." The reason I think Duke must not take Miami lightly is because Miami has shown it can compete against ACC teams. Another team Duke shouldn't take lightly when they roll around is Florida State, who just "upset" (2)(3)(?) Wake Forest last night.

My prediction: Duke starts off slow as usual, stays within 3-8 points of Miami until halftime, then comes out after halftime to capture yet another ACC win.

Final thought: Duke by 13
